Board Members

Mayor Chris Neville

 

Chris is serving his second stint on the Village Board. He served from 1996 to 2010 and was re-elected in 2012 as a Village Trustee. He has the distinction of operating the only dairy farm in the Village, which has been in his family for many years.

Assignments: Ambulance Commissioner, Finance, Fire Commissioner, Light Commissioner and, Timber Harvest. 

Trustee Betty Conger

 

Betty has been on the Board since 2001. Betty is retired from Cornell University. She is very active in the American Legion Auxiliary on both the local and state levels. She also serves as the Village of Groton representative to the Tompkins County Council of Governments and is on the Board of Directors of the Groton Business Association.

Assignments: Park Commissioner, Joint Recreation Committee Rep, Code & Ordinance, Memorial Bells and Loan Committee.

Trustee Terrance Walpole
Assignments: Emergency Preparedness, Park Commissioner, Planning Board Rep, Sanitation (Sewer) Commissioner and, Water Commissioner.

Trustee Jean Morey

 

Jean was elected to the Village Board in March 2010. She is Executive Staff Assistant in the Administration Office of Alumni Affairs and Development, Cornell University. Jean is currently a member of the Groton Rotary Club and the Groton Community Council. She is also an advocate for the Organ Donor Program and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, being active for the past 25 years with the local chapter.

Assignments: Youth Commission Rep, TV Cable Franchise, Sidewalks, Police Commissioner, Joint Rec. Committee Rep, Dog Control and, Code & Ordinance. 

Trustee Michael Holl

 

Mike was elected to the Board in March 2013. He is the business teacher at Groton Junior/Senior High School teaching Business Math, Career and Financial Management, and College and Career Preparation.  In addition to teaching, he also coaches the boys varsity soccer and basketball teams.  Mike earned a Bachelor Degree in Health Science Education from the State University of New York College at Brockport. He is a member of the Sons of the American Legion and the Groton Rod and Gun Club.

Assignments: Police Commissioner, Buildings & Grounds, Street Commissioner and, Technology Development.
