Meet the Village Board
Mayor Dennis Toolan - Dennis has been Mayor since 1995. He owns his own electrical and plumbing business and he and his wife, Sue, are proprietors of the Groton Hotel. Dennis served on the original Board of Directors of the New York Municipal Power Agency, formed in 1997, which purchases incremental power for the Village and other municipal members.
Assignments: Light Commissioner, Fire Commissioner, Finance, Code & Ordinance,
TV Cable Franchise, Dog Control, Sidewalks.
Trustee Chris Neville - Chris has been a Village Board member since 1996. He has the distinction of owning the only dairy farm in the Village, which has been in his family for many years.
Assignments: Police Commissioner, Buildings & Grounds, Timber Harvest.
Trustee Betty Conger - Betty has been on the Board since 2001. Betty works as a Administrative Assistant for the Johnson School of Business at Cornell University. She is also very active in the American Legion Auxiliary on both the local and state level.
Assignments: Street Commissioner, Code & Ordinance, Memorial Bells, Youth
Commission Rep, Loan Committeee.
Trustee Mike Molino - Mike was appointed to the Village Board in October 2003 to fill an unexpired term. Mike is a computer teacher at Groton Central High School. His expertise was invaluable in the establishment of this web site.
Assignments:Water Commissioner, Park Commissioner, Finance, Web Development &
Design, Broadband over Power Lines, Loan Committee.
Trustee Jeff Evener - Jeff was elected to the Board in March 2007. He is a
teacher at East Middle School in Auburn, where he teaches U.S. History and
is doing his administrative internship. He has coached local youth and
varsity football.
Assignments: Sanitation Commissioner, Civil Defense & Disaster, Joint Recreation
Committee Rep.
