Meet the Village Board
Mayor Jeffrey W. Evener - Jeff was elected Mayor in March 2009 after fulfilling two years on the Board of Trustees. Jeff currently works for the Auburn Enlarged City School District in Auburn, New York where he serves as Supervisor of K-12 Social Studies. He earned a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science in Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership from the State University of New York College at Cortland.
Assignments: Fire Commissioner, Light Commissioner, Finance, Emergency
Preparedness, Code/Ordinance, Village Rep. for the Industrial Development Agency
Trustee Betty Conger - Betty has been on the Board since 2001. Betty is semi-retired and works part-time as an Administrative Assistant at the Institute for Community College Development, a SUNY Institute at Cornell University. She is also very active in the American Legion Auxiliary on both the local and state level.
Assignments: Street Commissioner, Joint Rec. Committee, Memorial Bells, Youth Commission Rep, Loan Committeee.
Trustee Mike Molino - Mike was appointed to the Village Board in October 2003 to fill an unexpired term. Mike is a teacher at Groton Central High School. His computer expertise was invaluable in the establishment of this web site.
Assignments:Water Commissioner, Park Commissioner, Finance, Web Development & Design, Broadband over Power Lines, Loan Committee.
Trustee Jamie Perkins - Jamie was elected to the Board in March 2009. He is employed by Tompkins County Probation Dept as a Security Officer for the Alternative to Incarceration Program. He has served on the Groton Board of Police Commissioners for three years. He is a board member for Cops, Kids and Toys and
also a volunteer with Groton Fire Department.
Assignments: Police Commissioner, Sidewalks.
Trustee Jean Morey - Jean was elected to the Village Board in March 2010. She is employed by Cornell University Alumni Affairs and Development as Executive Staff Assistant to the Sr. Associate Director and also works part time for J C Penney in Cortland. She is a past member of the Village Planning Board is a currently a member of Groton Rotary.
Assignments: Buildings and Grounds, Sidewalks.
